What’s the truth about God? Who is the God of the Bible? Seeking an answer to that question is called theology, the study of God. In this three-week series we will explore the nature of God as revealed in how he interacts with you and me. God is our Creator. God is our Ruler. God is our Redeemer.
Jesus said this about meeting your maker:
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3 NIV.
Knowing God personally is the key to eternal life!
Jack Cottrell asserts: The study of God must always be one of a Christian’s top priorities. James Orr points out,
“The doctrine of God, it need scarcely be said, lies at the foundation of all right thinking in religion. In strictness, theology is just the doctrine of God. . . So essential is it to begin with Scripturally right thoughts about God.”
There is nothing more important than clearly seeing and knowing the God of the Bible. Seeing and knowing God shapes our lives. The Bible spends a lot of time talking about God’s personality. His characteristics and attributes are plainly described because God wants us to know him and love him as he is. Our Creator, King and Redeemer is great! God is good! God is glorious!
